Audit and Risk Committee

Audit and Risk Committees are required to be established under Section 126 of the Local Government Act 1999.

The Audit and Risk Committee reports directly to Council and is made up of an Independent Chair, two (2) Independent Members and two (2) Elected Members.

Independent Chair: Mr Tim Muhlhausler

Independent Members: Ms Emily Morgan, Ms Annette Martin

Elected Members: Cr Hannah Loller, Mayor Caroline Phillips (ex-officio Member)

The purpose of the Audit and Risk Committee is to provide independent assurance and advice to the council on accounting, financial management, internal controls, risk management and governance matters.

The Audit and Risk Committee Work Plan has been endorsed by Council and is available here.

An Agenda is available three (3) clear days prior to the meeting and Agendas and Minutes are posted below. Minutes are available five (5) days after the meeting.

The Committee holds four meetings per year on the first Tuesday of February, May, August and November, but extra Special Meetings and/or Workshops can be called on an as-needs basis. Meetings are held at the Council Chambers at 11 Railway Terrace Karoonda SA 5307.
