Council Welcomes Interim Chief Executive Officer
At a Special Meeting held on 11 August 2026, the District Council of Karoonda East Murray appointed Ms Bridget Mather as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 September 2026.
Ms Mather brings extensive experience to the role with over 31 years in leadership postions for Local and Federal organisations; most recently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Coorong District Council.
Ms Mather will lead the organisation during the transition period while Council undertakes the recruitment process for their next permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Mayor Phillips welcomed the appointment and said Council was pleased to secure an experienced local government professional to guide the organisation.
