The District Council of Karoonda East Murray has prepared a Draft Roads & Place Naming Policy.
We invite community members to review the draft policy and provide feedback before it is finalised.
The Draft Roads & Place Naming Policy provides a framework for how roads and places within the district are named and renamed.
The policy aims to ensure a clear, consistent and transparent approach to road and place naming and provides guidance when considering naming or renaming proposals.
The draft policy covers matters including:
- Naming new roads and places
- Renaming existing roads and places
- Criteria and considerations for proposed names
- Community consultation requirements for naming proposals
- Legislative and administrative requirements relating to road and place naming
Consultation is open until 5.00 pm on Sunday 15 November 2026.
We encourage all interested residents, ratepayers and community members to have their say.
