Council Meetings

Meetings of Council are generally held in the Council Chambers, 11 Railway Terrace, Karoonda on the third Tuesday of the month, commencing at 7:30pm and are open to the general public.

The Agenda, including Correspondence items and reports is available for viewing on the front counter at the Council office. Click here for the latest Council Agenda. Agendas are sent to Elected Members at least 3 days before the meeting.

Council Meeting - Public Question Time

Public Question Time will be held at the beginning of every Ordinary Meeting of Council, with 15 minutes allocated. The Presiding Member, usually the Mayor, will determine the order in which questions are addressed, and all questions must be directed through the Presiding Member.

To participate, questions must be submitted in writing using Council's Public Question Form. You can download a copy of the form by
clicking the below button, alternatively you can pick up a printed copy from Council Office Reception at 11 Railway Terrace, Karoonda.

Completed forms must be submitted via email to council@dckem.sa.gov.au or delivered to the Council Office Reception by 12pm on the day preceding the Council Meeting. No verbal questions will be permitted during the meeting.

We encourage open and transparent dialogue. However, please note that questions must relate to Council reports, policy, or operations. Questions of a confidential, personal, vexatious, or irrelevant nature, or those deemed time-wasting, may not be accepted. The Mayor has full discretion to terminate or decline a question or response at any time.

Members of the public are welcome to attend scheduled Council Meetings and observe from the public gallery in the Council Chambers.
