Celebrate Volunteer Week – Share a Message of Thanks

Published 7th April 2026

Volunteer Week is a national celebration recognising the vital role volunteers play in communities across Australia. Here in our district, volunteers are the backbone of many of the services, groups and activities that make our community such a great place to live.

From SA Ambulance and the Country Fire Service, to sporting clubs, community organisations, church and faith-based groups, volunteers generously give their time, skills and energy to support others. Whether responding in emergencies, coaching on weekends, organising events or quietly lending a helping hand, volunteers make a lasting difference every day.

As part of our Volunteer Week celebrations, we are inviting community members to share a short message of appreciation for volunteers in our district. Messages may be a thank you, a reflection, or a note recognising the value of volunteering in our community.

To help share "a message of thanks" we have placed a message pinboard at the Karoonda School Community Library where you can write and pin your notes!

Alternatively, you can submit your message online by clicking here.

Messages submitted will be shared with volunteers and the wider community during Volunteer Week celebrations, 18 - 24 May 2026.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to contribute and help us celebrate the volunteers who give so much to our community.
