Community Step Challenge: Get Your Pedometers Ready!
Get active and see how many steps you can clock up this November!
Whether you're already a regular walker or just looking for a little motivation to get moving, Council's Community Step Challenge is a simple way to get active and challenge yourself throughout November.
Council is encouraging the community to get moving, be active and make a few extra steps part of the everyday routine. Every step counts, whether you're heading out for a walk, doing jobs around the house or simply finding little ways to move more during the day.
The challenge runs from 1–30 November 2026. Simply track your daily steps using your smartphone or smartwatch. Don't have one of these - no worries - pop into the Council office to collect a free pedometer and record your total on Council's Daily Step Record Sheet.
Prizes to be won!
There are three prizes up for grabs, with prizes for both adult and youth participants:
Ages 17 and over:
- Overall highest step count: 1-month Karoonda Community Gym membership
- Lucky draw: 1-month Karoonda Community Gym membership
Ages 16 and under:
- Overall highest step count: $30 sports shop voucher
Thank you to the Karoonda Community Gym for donating 2 prizes up to the value of $55.00* each.
How to take part:
- Download the Daily Step Record Sheet
- Track and record your steps each day throughout November
- Return your completed Step Record Sheet to Council (email to council@dckem.sa.gov.au or drop off to the Council Office by the 2nd of December 2026)
