Holding an Event?

All you need to know about holding an event in the DCKEM district.

To conduct a “one off” special event, i.e. festival or celebration on Council land or in a Council building, applicants must submit an application to Council using the Event Application Form (WHS F3).  It may be worthwhile contacting Council on 8578 1004 during normal business hours to discuss the management of your event.

You should allow a minimum of 6 weeks for small events – those with less than 100 people and no food or alcohol.  For a high risk event, i.e. those with food, alcohol and higher attendance will require at least 6 months to properly plan and manage risks that may be identified.

If your event involves stallholders selling food or goods your stallholders will need to complete the Stallholder Registration Form (WHS F6).

Additionally for the provision or sale of food a temporary food business form (WHS F7) is required.

If you are a regular hirer of a Council facility for meetings or sporting events you will need to complete the Facility Hire (Ongoing) Form for all bookings commencing in 2023.
