Youth Action Committee
The very first Youth Action Committee for the district was established in May 2020. It is an opportunity for a group of young people aged between 12 – 25 years to meet regularly to discuss youth issues, help organise youth & community events and take part in leadership forums and self-development activities. YAC is designed to develop the leadership and life skills of its members and is a 12-month commitment.
How do youth become involved with the YAC?
Council will from time to time call for nominations to the YAC. At that point, youth are encouraged to complete a nomination form. Appointments to the YAC are made by the CEO after consultation with the Mayor and Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
