Karoonda and District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital ED Update

Published 7th November 2023

The Karoonda and District Memorial Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is open to provide nurse-led emergency care on-site when needed, with medical support available via telehealth.

Consumers who require further support or specialist care will be stabilised by the hospital’s nursing staff prior to transfer to another site where needed, for example, Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Riverland General Hospital, or a metropolitan hospital.

Always call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.

Remember:

  • In a mental health emergency, call the Mental Health Triage Service on 13 14 65. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • If you live in the town or surrounds of Karoonda and need to visit a hospital for a non-urgent presentation, please go directly to the Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital ED at 96 Swanport Road Murray Bridge. Alternatively, you can visit the ED at Mannum or Lameroo.
  • If it’s not an emergency, visit your local GP or pharmacy.
